Help needed for animal welfare investigation!

Friends, we need your help! We assisted law enforcement in an ongoing law enforcement investigation in southern Vermont on September 10th that resulted the seizure of 20 horses, including two mares and two foals. One of the foals (and her mother) had to be transported to Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital to be treated for a fever, pneumonia, dehydration and diarrhea. All of them are suffering from some type of medical condition or were not having their daily care met.
This was the third seizure at the same breeding farm in southern VT. The first one took place on 2023, and two additional seizures in 2024. Thirty five horses have been moved from this breeding facility by law enforcement to date.
We would like to thank law enforcement, the state veterinarians, our veterinarian and her assistant, several other state employees, our volunteers and staff. It was a very long day and everyone worked extremely hard to help these horses get out of a bad situation and get the care they needed. Thank you to our wonderful donors who continue to support us through good times and bad. We wouldn’t be here without you and these horses truly wouldn’t have had a place to go without you.
We will keep you updated as we can. We hope you will understand that we can’t share a lot of details at this time, but we hope to share more in the coming days. But right now we need your support more then ever.
We are raising funds to cover costs associated with the animal welfare investigation, medical exams for all 20 horses, hospitalization costs for the mare and foal, hay, grain, bedding, and overall care for as long as they are with us, and so much more.
Please consider a donation today to help towards the care of these horses and the cost involved with this animal welfare investigation. We do not receive state funding to cover any of our expenses. Donations can also be mailed to:
